The Words You Speak

Mr. Solomon Muthaiah

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight. Psalm 19:14 KJV

Some years ago, I was running a low temperature for a long period of time. We consulted many doctors who could not find the cause, even after running the whole battery of tests. All came out normal. However, I was feeling most uncomfortable. It was then that we asked an anointed servant of God to pray for me. He duly came and opened his Bible read a verse looked us in the eye and said that I had been speaking against God. He then prayed a short prayer and left. Needless to say, I was mutinous after such an abrupt and straight charge. Nevertheless, I knew it was true I had been grumbling against God and even downgrading him about a problem which troubled me greatly. Despite all this I knew I was wrong and asked God’s forgiveness. At once I felt completely ok. I checked my temperature using the same thermometer and my temperature was normal. With thanks to God, I have never had such a problem till date. Sometimes God admonishes us in these ways, not always, but sometimes. If I had continued to profane the name of the Lord, I might have been punished more severely. He comes to us through simple things that do not look bad and then leads us off the track.

Lest we say something that grieves him,

Lest we think something amiss,

Let’s rest our thoughts and words with Him

Finding for us true bliss.

Prayer

Father we admit that we are guilty of talking and thinking against your Divine Majesty, Oh! Help us to humble ourselves before you. Please forgive these our sins for Christ’s sake. Amen.
