Chosen In The Furnace

For the Lord has chosen Israel as his personal possession. (Psalm 135:4)

God has chosen you because of his great love for you. Different situations however might throw a different light on this promise. They might be passing difficulties or longstanding ones. Sometimes we might feel that God isn’t with us. Jesus too felt this as he hung on the cross. The problem is that our physical or mental suffering is so great that we cannot feel him near. Sometimes God tries us like he tried Job. It seems cruel, doesn’t it? Well, Satan can be cruel. Yet God allows it!! The reason can only be known when we ask God about it in person.

Sometimes our light of hope burns very low. Sometimes it even goes out. Do not fear, the light of the world is going to Light your wick of hope again and bless you with Himself in a wonderful way.

My heart quails before the mighty storm,

Violent waters do wreck me:

Oh, why has God left me these sorrows to conform?

Does he not my travail see?

But though my heart lies sad and broken,

No life in it at all,

He’ll fulfill every promise that he has Spoken

When He comes to be my all in all.

Prayer

Dear God please help me see Your love working in my life today, despite my limitations. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
