The need to reach children with God’s eternal Word through the ministry of Sunday school was always considered an important ministry in Emmanuel Methodist Church in obedience to Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

A well-structured Sunday school syllabus handled by a dedicated set of teachers who are willing to depend on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and creativity to reach the children right from toddlers (preschoolers) to class 12th, are the hallmarks of Sunday School at EMC.

Children are encouraged to internalize scripture and make it part of their lives by asking questions and looking at practical applications of the truths they learn. Over the years the Almighty God has raised leaders in the local church and the universal Church from children who have been through Sunday school at EMC.

This year Sunday School has gone virtual due to the COVID situation. The classes currently take place on Zoom.

We have roughly about 120 students and 30 teachers. We are following a curriculum by child focus for classes up to 7th standard and a curriculum by Teen Sunday school for classes 8 – 12.
