Rev. Jacob Kalvin was born in a Christian family in Coimbatore. When he was in Standard 10, he was greatly moved by the preaching and teaching of Lt Mr. Stanley Prince and committed his life to the Lord.  As he continued to pray along with his friends in a weekly Prayer Cell, he strongly felt the calling of God in his life through Romans 10:14. At the age of 18, he decided to pursue his Theological Studies and completed his Bachelor of Theology from the Madras Theological Seminary and College, and recently has acquired a degree in Bachelor of Divinity.

After he stepped into the Chennai Regional Conference, he was first appointed as a pioneer in Chettipalayam, a rural place in Coimbatore to work among the poor and downtrodden people. After completing the task of constructing a Church for them in that place and bringing many of them into the Lord’s fold, he was transferred to Methodist Tamil Church in Bommiampatti, Salem. God used him to transform the lives of many people. He also served as the District Youth Advisor for four years and the District Secretary for three years. Pastor Kalvin has a great passion to see transformation of lives through prayer, preaching, teaching and above all living an exemplary life.

Rev. Jacob Kalvin is married to Mrs. Shanthini who has completed her M.A. B. Ed. and is a great support to him in his ministry. God has blessed them with two little sons. Elder son is Joshua Daniel and younger son is Joseph Gabriel. Pastor’s family is much committed to adapt themselves to any kind of situation that God places them in.
