Rev. D. Lucas was born and brought up in a Christian family in Villupuram, and having studied in Walter Scudder School, Tindivanam, he received his call to serve the Lord at a young age. He started his journey by serving as a missionary in OM India from 1986-1996. He did his Theological Studies at South India Biblical Seminary, Bangarpet and The Union Biblical Seminary, Pune. He also completed his MA Christian Studies from Madras University.

He has served as Pastor in various Churches for the past 23 years and is currently ministering in Emmanuel Methodist Church, Vepery, Chennai as an Associate Pastor in the Chennai Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India.

He is blissfully married to Malarvizhi Jesintha, who holds a Degree in Home Science from Holy Cross Home Science College in Tuticorin, and a PG Diploma in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) from the Institute of Gandhi Grahmam, Ambathurai.

Pastor Lucas and his wife are blessed with three children- Sharon, Sherman and Vimala. Vreni Sharon Lucas has a Degree in B.Sc  Dialysis Technology from SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. Joseph Sherman is pursuing B.Sc Psychology in Patrician College. Vimala is currently in High school.
