Rev. John Simeon was born in Delhi and grew up in Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) He studied in Madras Christian College School, Chennai. While he was in his 11th standard he received his call for ministry.  He completed Pre-University from the Madras Christian College Tambaram in Madras, Graduation in Pachiayappas College with Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. He did his basic Theological studies of Bachelor of Divinity from the Union Biblical Seminary in Yavatmal in Maharashtra. In the year 1997 he completed his Diploma in Applied Theology from the University of Oxford through Westminster College Oxford (A Methodist College).  In 2002, he completed his Th.M. in Pastoral Care and Counselling from the Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey. 

Influenced by Rev. Dr. Samuel Kamaleson, late Bishop Stanley Downes, Dr. Ravi Joseph, and Rev. Dr. Theodore Townsend, he was led into the ministry with the Methodist Church in India. God gave him a burden for North India.

After graduation from UBS, he was appointed as Pastor at the English Methodist Church, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh where he served for 24 years (May 1981 – June 2005.)He worked as Associate Pastor at Emmanuel Methodist Church from June 2005 to June 2006. From June 2006 to May 2010 he was appointed as pastor of Christ Methodist Church, Chinmaya Nagar. From May 2010 to May 2011, he served as Senior Pastor of Anna Nagar Methodist Church. From May 2011 till date, he is serving as Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Methodist Church, Vepery.

In the course of his ministry in Madhya Pradesh Regional Conference and Chennai Regional Conference he has served in various other capacities. At present he is the also District Superintendent of the Madras South District.

He is married to Evangeline who was an English Lecturer in Government Colleges (Tamilnadu). After marriage, she taught English in Leonard Theological College, Jabalpur for 22 yrs. and Gurukul Lutheran Theological College for about 13 yrs. She is a good home maker, mother and wife! She has a passion to be a witness for Christ. She has helped to start the ministry of prayer station in our church which involves praying for those who walk down Jeremiah Road where our church is situated. She is also involved in counselling women. 

They have two children; Samuel married to Susanna and Salome is married to Rev. Philp Yalla and a grandson, Elijah. 

John Simeon serves the Lord out of love for Him. He loves to be with people and mentor them. He enjoys seeing people grow in the faith. He likes to train next generation leaders.
